Super 8 Movie Projector – Projection

The Sankyo Sound 502 movie projector was bought in January 1979 in Brussels (10.900 Belgian francs). It was used to project Super 8 family movies shot with a Chinon 60 AF XL bought at the same time.

Sankyo, established in 1946 in Japan as a music box manufacturer, began in 1957 the production of 8mm movie cameras and projectors. Super 8mm film cameras were first manufactured in 1965 by Kodak, and Sankyo launched the same years cameras and projectors for this new amateur film format.

This projector weights 8kg and measures 19 x 22,4 x 32,4 cm.

Description of the sound : The reel is placed on the hub of the front film arm. The control switch of the projector is setted to move forward. The film is inserted in the strip of the projector. With this automatic loading machine, the film is automatically placed in a slot on the empty reel. The projection can begin.
