The route was over 20 kilometres long and consisted of a usually 50 metre wide ground strip owned by the king and the crown. When it is first mentioned in the early 17th century it was already in dissolution. According to different sources it is obvious that Kungsbetet was an unusually long and broad cattle path. It has hitherto not been possible to find any real counterparts.
