"The face is made in leather. Added to the face are eyes, a nose, eyebrows, a beard, and teeth. The eyes and nose are made in leather, too; the eyebrows and the beard are made of pelt, probably from lama. The teeth are probably made from one single, large polished bone. The beard is fastened to a textile net, which in turn is fastened to the leather. The net for the beard is similar to the net forming the mask's back. Both were made of vegetable fibres and interwoven with lama hair. The net in the back has a hood form, and so the mask can be worn over the head. The face itself is painted in two colours, yellow and brown. The uppermost part of the mask, and the part around the eyes and beard are painted in brown, too. The nose and cheeks are painted in yellow."
