Givaren skriver om detta föremål i sitt brev av 18 maj 1973 till museichefen H. Wassén: "You will also find a clay doll in the package. It was given to me by an interesting American-born >
> woman who with her husband, an ex-New York port captain, had spent many years in efforts to promote and construct the beginning of a highway inland to Para and Belém from Goyas, about 15.58 S and 50.2 W. They had a ranch near Annapolis in the Goyas district, which we visited occasionally while I was working on the development of Brasilia. Unfortunately I have lost the name of the Indian tribe that produced the doll, and the woman and her husband have both died, but she told me the tribe lived in the northern part of the Goyas district.
