I was deeply touched to receive today gour kind letter of the l0th inst. with your very generous offer to contribute 1000 ecrowns to the exhibition of Chinese bronze-objects organized by our Crown Prince. At present our Crown Prince works here every second day selec- ting and arranging material for this exhibition. When he arrived this morning I brought him the important news of your valuable gift and he authorized me to present to you the expressions of our pro- found gratitude for this donation which is specially valuable in this tie of financial depression, when it is very difficult to raise funds for an enterprise like ours. Personally I wish to present to you my sincerest thanks for your help at a time when our financial means were running very low. You will probably like to hear what a keen interest our Crown Prince takes in this exhibition to which he has taken the initiativ. A1l the material is selected by him personally and he himself classå- fies alllthe specimens echronologieally in a way which has already thrown considerable new light upon the relationship and development of the Chinese Bronze-ert.FAR We would very much appreciate to have you with us at the occasion of the International Songress of Art History. I Bresume that several connaisseurs of early Chinese art will come here and that there will be considerable comment and discussion on our exhibition.
