Dear Dr, Andrews, I am at present working with what we call the Ordos-bronzes, arms and devorative objects dating from the anclent Hans, who ruled in Mongolia in the centuries B. 0. The characteristio feature of these bronzes ie the extensive use of animal motives. I am now occupied with unravelling the spiritual meehing of these animal designe and will publieh my conclusions in a paper Hu For this purpose I would very much like to have your permissioh to reproduce the beautiful Argall-head ehown in Plate XV of your book Acroes Mongolian plains. Could you be so very kind to provide me with & photographic copy, that would reproducd much better than the picture in the book. I am often thinking of the happy past when we met in Peking and your great asilatic exmedition was in full swing. Have you still plans to approach Mongolia from Russian territory in Siberia? By the way I read that your Museum planned an expedition to hunt the siberian tiger.
