The reason of my severance from him was due to that Mr. Haidin had cut off xxx food supply for 57 (?) days at the place Sha-lo-hu-la-su. / Which caused our complaint to him there followed with a quarrel. / Mr Haidin then dismissed my service, and gave me a passport to return to Peiping. But unfortunately this passport is of not much validity. We had many troubles on the journey. When we arrived in Heilungkiang, We were arrested and detained by the authorities for four mounths. / Through my own means and effort, I got my freedom and came back to Peiping safely. But since November, 1930, my allowance was cut off, and I have lost my means of living. Therefore I beg to apply to you for a recommendation, as I have had served you for over 15 years, you know very well of my record.
