Fo the quartzites, I have showed them to Breuil, whose opinion has been « actly the same as the mine: the smaller piece is surely artificially kroken; tlje larger one is less demonstrative., Nevertheless, Breuil thinks that it is possibly artificially kroken by a blow, the place o which I have indicated ty some lines (drawn with a pencil): the lines diverge from the supposed place of the blow, No doubt that the Kansu : Shensi loessic basins are the most important place for constructing t palaeolithic history of China. I have been highly interested by the specimens0609 from Chou-kou-tien. One of the lower jaws refered to Pseudaxis, could perhaps (on account of the primitive shape of the P,) belong a Sangkan-ho form, The Bos is decidedly much MA larger than the small Sangkan-ho Bison, The thickened Deer lower jaws are very cur Ous.
