Dear Sir, I am directed by the Academic Council, acting on behalf of the Senate, to ask if you will consent to deliver in this University a Course of three Lectures on your discoveries in China. The fee offered for the Course is £30. If, as I hope will be the case, you are able to accede to this request and to render the University this important service, I should be glad if you would kindly suggest dates that will meet with your convenience. TIne dates for the University Terms for the Session 1927- 28 are as follows:- lst Term: 6th Octoher to l6th December 1927. end Term: l2th Jenuary to 21st March 1928. ord Term: 26th April to 28th Jane 1928. It would be a convenience to receive with yOUr reply, of as Soon as possible afterwards, & short syllabus of the Lectures for publication in the University Gazette and elsewhere. While the publication of advanced lectures is in 20 sense a& condition, the Couneil hope that the lectures may be published, and & Publication Fund has been instituted by the Senate from which grents may be made for the purpose.
