K. Ting.</pres:description><pres:content xml:lang="sv">0737, December 1llth, 1927 Dr. V.K. Ting, 1814 Meigegutal, Dairen, South Manchuria. Dear Dr. Ting: Now I again must apologize to you. When I was about to senå the photographs and the German edition of my book I felt that I first wanted to have a copy taken of Mr, Lo's photo=. graph, and then with my usual cerelessness the whole matter was laid aside so that only now I mall to you one package /registered/ containing Mr, Liang 's and Mr. Lo's photos, and another parcel con- talning the book, Then the card catalogue will follow within a few days. I send the two parcels care of Dr. Wong, Tne Geological Survey, Peking, because I am not certain that you are in Dairen any more. Also a copy of this letter is sent under The Survey address , Tne Cowry shells belonging to Mr, Lo are now being studied by Dr. Odhher, and will be returned to Mr, Lo as soon as this research work is completed. I have learned with much delight from Dr, Blacks letter of October 29th, about the splendid discovery of another tooth of the Peking Man, and I feel nearly confident that more material will be found in the raw material taken to Peking. You have certainly an wonderful opportunity of finding ancestrel remains of Man in North China and I sincerely ask you to get the Rockerfellow people interested in granting more funds for the continuation of the work over a number of years. Some few days ago, I gave in our Geographicel Society, a brief report on the (Chou Kou Tien fauna and the two teeth found by Dr, Zdansky, who's monograph is now in press and will be sent to Dr., 073? Wong in proof. It goes without saying, that in my lecture I mentioned nothing about the new discovery but only that continued excavation is going on by means of cooperation between the Geological Survey, Dr, Black's Department and the Rockerfellow Foundation. I understand from a letter received from a friend in Peking, that Dr. Wong has been away from the Capital for some time. I hope he is back by this time as we anxiously await for his instructions re the continued printing of the Palaeontologia Sinica monographs and the pay- ment of the same. I have got an offer from New York for an English edition of my book on China, and am anxious to inelude some words on the recent developments, especially the reason for Yen Hsi Shan's attack upon Chang Tso LÅng. At one time Peking Leader stated that Yen sent his Kuo Min Chun troops to be eliminated by the Fengtien armies. Mr, Karlbeck who just arrived here the other day, tells me as his explanatton that Sun Chuan Fang was ready to move south in force by means of strong Moukden support and that the Yen-Feng Yä Hsiang alliance saw its only chance of survival in an immediate ounter attack. I am now planning immediately to begin the work on my book, China Before History, and will write you very soon in order to learn your own plans with reference to your work on the History of the Chinese Civili- zation. Witn kindest regards to Dr. Wong and to Dr. Grabau, and my sincerest wishes for everything good t you during the coming year. Yours very devotedly,</pres:content><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Tillverkad</pres:event><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Andersson, Johan Gunnar</pres:nameLabel><pres:timeLabel>1927-12-14</pres:timeLabel></pres:context><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Mottagen</pres:event><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Ding Wenjiang (V.
