I specially take the liberty to refer to page 257,.where you will find your honorable self in the midst of colleagues and friends, and to page 260, where I have tried to pay an humble tribute to your admirable work. Dr. Black has just written me about the discovery of a new human tooth at Chou Kou Tien, and I most heartily congratulate you all to this exceedingly important find. I most sincerely hope that the cooperation on this line of research between the Survey and the Rockerfellow Foundation will be continued for a number of years, in order to explore not only the Chou Kou Tien cave but also other similar deposits whicy certainly exist in the 1limestone areas of north- &rn China. . I am now fairly well established in my new research laboratory, Östasiatiska Samlingarna, Sveavägen 65, Stockholm, and work for the present to build up a small research library. I hope much from this next year in the way of getting the archeological mono- graphs well started. My thoughts always return to the happy years in Peking, to the Survey and to your nice little home where I have spent so many delightful evenings. Please let me know at your convenience a little how things are progressing in the Survey and in Peking in general.
