It arrived here when we were preparing the exhibit of our new acquisitions that was shown to the Crown Prince and to some few invited persons, the 1l5th of November, Since then we have been working with moving in the definite furniture for our prehistoric exhibition hall, and arranging the specimens which were shown to the Crown Prince and the small circle of our nearest friends, the l2th inst., Only after this occasion we have been able peacefully to study the wonderful content of your catalogue, of which I head seen before only volumes I and II. Now I realize the magnitude and unparalleled beauty of your collection, and am longing for the day when I will be given the privilege to see your unique exhibits,. Please accept, dear Mr, Eumorfopoulos, my most respecetful thanks for your donation to our library, which is by far the most valuable contribution that we have received from any quarter. I wrote early this autumn to the University of London and to the Society of Antiquaries, asking for the permission to postpone until the fall of 1928 my leeturing tour to London. I feel very strongly that it will be necessary before delivering the lectures in London to go over the whole of our prehistoric material very care. fully, Especially I have found the Sixth Period of my Kansu finds to be a difficult riddle. Evidently, there are strong Sythian elements in the Sixth Period of Kansu and there is probably a big hiatus between this period and the previous ones. On the other hand, there is quite a possibility that our Sixth Period material will throw some light on the beginnings of the Sythian things. May I tell you that we have formed a small "China Club" under the chairmanship of the Crown Prince, We had our first meeting the l2th inst. with a lecture by Professor Siren on the Liang sculptors in the Nanking region. Subsequently, I gave a brief note on bronzes from south China and the Crown Prince showed some of his latest gequisitions, Then our guests inspected the prehistoric hall, that just had got its furniture and lighting.</pres:content><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Tillverkad</pres:event><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Andersson, Johan Gunnar</pres:nameLabel><pres:timeLabel>1927-12-15</pres:timeLabel></pres:context><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Mottagen</pres:event><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Eumorfopoulos, George</pres:nameLabel></pres:context><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10022161/E1A-1_0500.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10022160/E1A-1_0500.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#cc0</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Andersson, Johan Gunnar</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Utgången upphovsrätt</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10022165/E1A-1_0501.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10022164/E1A-1_0501.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#cc0</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Andersson, Johan Gunnar</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Utgången upphovsrätt</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:references><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkiv/204080</pres:reference><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-EM/name/1239710</pres:reference><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-EM/name/3212815</pres:reference></pres:references><pres:representations><pres:representation format="HTML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/html/514325</pres:representation><pres:representation format="XML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/xml/514325</pres:representation><pres:representation format="RDF">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/rdf/514325</pres:representation></pres:representations></pres:item>
