Dr. H.P.R- Visser, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam Dear Dr. Visser, My very best thanks for your kind latter of January 25th, I am extremely grateful for your kindness in helping me about the Dutch bronzes. As to the Huai tiger, I can see no reason why you should not publish the photograph. It is ttue that our Bull. Vol. VI stands for the year 1934, but it was really not published before 1935 so your remark Äbout the tiger appeared long before Anderssons article. You are quite right that Andersson made his discovery quite independently, though it was published later than yours — neither he nor I had indeed observed your important lines in the Maandblad on the subject, undoubtedly because there was no illustration which could draw our attention to it. But as I soo the matter, if you publish the photo now it has just the character of a belated explanatory addition to your important remark of 19314, and I am perfectly convinced that Andersson (now in China), who is a most gene- rous colleague, would naver dream of preventing you from adding this be- lated dooumentation to your earlier scientific conclusion. It is, of course, very nive if you will add that you and Andersson have arrived</pres:description><pres:content xml:lang="sv">o790 6 independently at the same result. The Berlin Euo drew my attention when I was in Berlin 2 years ago and I got a photo of it, Your suggestion seems quite likely. The only risk 48 that the piece might be a late Middle Chow piece bordering on the Fuai time, hence archalzing. There is something slightly "baroque" 4n the graceful and playful curves of the dragon head. But perhaps that is to be over-cautions. with kind regards Yours sincerely OK</pres:content><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Tillverkad</pres:event><pres:timeLabel>1938</pres:timeLabel></pres:context><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10241865/E1A-17_0480a.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10241864/E1A-17_0480a.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#by-nc-nd</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Östasiatiska museet</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Statens museer för världskultur</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10241869/E1A-17_0480b.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10241868/E1A-17_0480b.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#by-nc-nd</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Östasiatiska museet</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Statens museer för världskultur</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:references><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkiv/204096</pres:reference></pres:references><pres:representations><pres:representation format="HTML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/html/512927</pres:representation><pres:representation format="XML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/xml/512927</pres:representation><pres:representation format="RDF">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/rdf/512927</pres:representation></pres:representations></pres:item>
