Zweden, Dear Professor Karlgren, Tour letter of April 1l9th 1937 reached me safely and I was glad to hear that the artefacts were of some value for your Museum. I know that your Museum is interested in the prehistory of the far Bast, in particuliar, and you in Sweden interested in the study of the "Stenåldersliv" in general. Indeed I shall be happy to send you some more, I can tell you that already a number -is collected. About the collection I sent you I was sorry to hear the marks where lost.I expect that by repacking after inspection by the Gouvern- ment historical survey (oudheidkundige dienst) the marks where lost. I divided the collectuon in 3 parts market: A. Neoliticum. To this belong the axcea made from Jaspez, andesite, basalt,e.s.o. 23, The implements were found in the tairtiair Strata (M2) in Middle $364,5 Java (Keboemen) in "Tegallan" grounds (dry rice fields still in use by the Javanese). (Dr.O.Arrhenius, Gamla Haga Stockholm 6 can tell you all you want to know about these kinds of grounds). Kjesinr B. Neoldticum founded in the miocene strtata South of Sourakarta and Ra sc med Goenoeng Sewoe (the thousand hills). The third packet contains the Paleolitie implements which are "vent Rround in the pleistocene strata 5 to 8 kilometer Baet from the second place I mentioned. - On 11-2-1937 I sent you as printed mtter a map of Java and Madoe- ra on which I murked the three parts. If you did not received this map please let me know and I will furnish you a duplicate. I hope your CrowrPrince is pleased with my little contribution I know H.R.H. is very interested in the prehistory and is a distin- quishedarchrologist. Finaly I must tell you that I am not a Doctor in Science but a business man. I am interested in estates (tea, rubber, a kapok)and mining. Archeology is a hobby; but I hope to be able to do something for this most interesting sience.
