There, are very few archaeological museums, and to see private collections is not always so easy and tales | ample time to arrange it. SE In Tokyo you may deliver 3 or 4 lectures, and in Kyoto 2 or 3 - as you like. We have now prepared for your lectures 1,000 Yen altogether. 4. You can do very well. 5. You can have some specimens from universities, otc., and also buy things from merchants. But japanese antiqui- ties are not so abundant as that in China. 6. In Japan any forelgner is not allowed to make archaeo- logical excavation, but in the name of Japanese scholar, or in the form of jolnt excavation, you can do some excavation of neolothic shell-monds or the kinds, near Tokyo. In the neighbourhood of Kyoto such shell-mounds are very scarce. To älg ancient burial-mounds is very difficult even to us. You may get those duplicate objects found and take to yourcountry. Though I do not know about the excavatlons in Korea, Manchuria perhaps very difficult to be allowed to any person, outside of the Governrent people. 16, You can easily learn of any current archaeologi- cal research from us, to publish in your paper. .
