Perceval Yetts, 4, Aubrey Road, Campåden Hill, London, W.B, My dear Yetts, I have been golng over Ashton”s selections with Karklbeck who is down here to help ne, and I have filled in the forms received from Royal Academy and sent same to Andersson in Stockholm who is collecting the forms and will send them all over to Mr. Lamb. Karlbeck and I find, however, that Mr. Ashton has overlooked several important pieces in my collection which we consider really ought to be at the Exhibition. One is a marble sculpture in the shape of a water buffalo which Karlbeck bought at Anyang. It is very archalc, and I do not think that there can be any doubt that it dates back to the Yin dynasty . Another is a bronze vessel of the type Hsien with beautiful design and good patina. It was shown at the Paris Exhibition. There are also 2 vessels which might be described as a cross between a ting and a 11 and which are probably unique. One is decorated with a pattern found on the white Anyang warod viz. a band of leiwen above and a zigzag pattern of rectangular034 Professor W. Perceval Yetts, Londons. 3/8/35. H/M. spirals below. The other is emb&llished with a remarkable and intersting design. Both came from Anyang. I am enclosing reproduction of three of the objects. If you care to have them for the Exhibition, please drop me a line by return, and I will have them packed with the other things. In this case will you please send me a form to fill in as well as the running numbers of the additions. You will excuse me for making the above suggestions. I do not know whether you have got similar things from other sides, but I think the pieces mentioned in this letter are for "connoisseurs" really worth having at the txhibition.
