These wooden idols of the last contury hand carved by native artists out of the Hindoe- Priosthood were worshipped idols of their holy Tempels-. Idols like these, which aro a fine speci- man of artistical workmanship are only to obtain with groat difficulties, They are painted in fine colours and gold over fretwork as nice as a spi- der's web, Very sca&areco on the island of Bali, they are of great value to museums and privat oollections. I hava been told that those idols protects the owners against misforiuno , sickness, oto. The high is about 18 inches (1: feet) and they äre assured against lost by fire for 5000 Holl. guilders. On account of family affaires these five wooden idols must be sold and therfore I shaäl be obliged if you would make a bid for these five idols.
