Perhaps sometime I may again have the pleasure of visiting Stockholm and seeing you again in your Museum and talking with you of the many interesting things in your book. With many thanks and best wishes for the New Year, I an, Sincerely yours,</pres:description><pres:content xml:lang="sv">Ola New York, January 11, 1935. Dear Dr. Andersson: I am very much pleased to have your book CHILDEEN OF THE YELLOW EARTH which arrived the other day. Unfortunately, I have been having trouble with my eyes for the past year and cannot use them very much for reading but I have glanced through some of the headings of the chapters and the illustrations and am particularly interested in the types of early ceramices. When I was in Persia last spring, I saw fragments of the early Neolithic potteries found in the village uncovered near Persepolis. They were of extraordinary fine- ness, being hard and smooth with the design clearly end beautifully drawn, I understand that they are fully as fide, if not more so, as the Soussa I Potteries and more of them have been found than was found in Soussa. In reading the description in your book, I note that you speak of the fineness of the clay and the design. The two top illustrations on Page 185 from Honan and Anau are very similar in character to a small piece I have from the Neolithic Village near Persepolis and which Dr. Herzfeld gave me. I also note that you speak of some of them being covered with a "slip." Those pieces must be later. It will take me sometime, as I shall have to do it gradually to read your book</pres:content><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Tillverkad</pres:event><pres:placeLabel xml:lang="sv">New York</pres:placeLabel><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Moore, Ada Small</pres:nameLabel><pres:timeLabel>1935-01-11</pres:timeLabel></pres:context><pres:context><pres:event xml:lang="sv">Mottagen</pres:event><pres:nameLabel xml:lang="sv">Andersson, Johan Gunnar</pres:nameLabel></pres:context><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10205878/E1A-12_0011a.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10205877/E1A-12_0011a.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#pdmark</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Moore, Ada Small</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Zero</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:image><pres:mediaType>image/jpeg</pres:mediaType><pres:src type="thumbnail">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/tn/10205882/E1A-12_0011b.jpg</pres:src><pres:src type="lowres">https://collections.smvk.se/carlotta-om/web/image/zoom/10205881/E1A-12_0011b.jpg</pres:src><pres:mediaLicense>http://kulturarvsdata.se/resurser/License#pdmark</pres:mediaLicense><pres:byline xml:lang="sv">Moore, Ada Small</pres:byline><pres:copyright xml:lang="sv">Zero</pres:copyright></pres:image><pres:references><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkiv/204091</pres:reference><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-EM/name/25118432</pres:reference><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-EM/name/4429216</pres:reference><pres:reference>http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-EM/name/1239710</pres:reference></pres:references><pres:representations><pres:representation format="HTML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/html/510177</pres:representation><pres:representation format="XML">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/xml/510177</pres:representation><pres:representation format="RDF">http://kulturarvsdata.se/SMVK-OM/arkivdokument/rdf/510177</pres:representation></pres:representations></pres:item>
