Dear Professor Currelly, At this occasion when I send you a circular letter on behalf of my collaborator professor Bernhard Karlgren I take the liberty of approaching you in a matter which is highly important for the research in whieh I am at present engaged. In your museum there is a vessel reproduced by Äihite in his work Tombe of Old Lo-Yang, Plate CXIII, 252: Large Sauare Bronze Bowl, inlajid with Malachite and Gold. This vessel is, because of its highly interesting design, of quite special importance to my researeh., It would be of the utrost value to me to be allowed to study in åetall this invortant vessel. As I ca not at present go to America only for the purpose of studiying this one vessel I take the liberty of asking whether you could be so very kind to allow this museum to stöds this precious object which we certainly did not want to keep more than a fortnight.
