The stone blocks were cut into the same size as the mud bricks that had previously been used to build with. The pyramid was built as several steps. It had extensive underground galleries. Inside these ca 40 000 stone vessels in different form and size have been found. These are two of them.Djosers pyramid var den första pyramiden och det första monumentala byggnadsverket i sten. Stenblocken var i samma storlek som de lertegel som man var van att bygga med. Pyramiden hade inte raka sidor utan byggdes som flera trappsteg. Den hade vidsträckta underjordiska gallerier. I dem har man hittat ca 40 000 stenkärl i olika form och storlek.
