Like 332, rounded bottom, slight foot, sharp carination widens quickly to body, very concave elongated neck, very everted rim, widens at mouth somewhat less than base. Plain rim.SHM 20563 MMLur 333, Bought by Prof. Ture Arne in Iran in 1932, Mottled black-green surface. Dented, cracked in bottom., Cleaning and conservation report. D-nr 16455013, 950108. General condition: dirty with dust. Has been previously treated -outside surface is partially mechanically cleaned and varnished with brittle and yellowed varnish. Inside of the beaker is dirty with rather thick deposits of soil -sand, clay and cement-hard calcareous deposits. Bottom of the beaker is mechanically damaged,- there is a dent, where metal is cracked and broken. Object. is covered with rather even layer of hard, dark green corrosion. There are several tiny spots of bright green/blue, powdery, voluminous active corrosion, mainly on outside surface. Treatment: varnish removed with cotton swabs soaked in ethanol. Object is cleaned mechanically with scalpel, small soft rotating bristle and steel brushes, under magnification. Active corrosion stabilised in 3% benzotriazole solution in ethanol for 48 hours. Rinsed in 95% ethanol, dried. Cracks in bottom are consolidated with 25% Paraloid B 72 in acetone.
