Usually, the gemstones are used to be worn with silver rings for men and gold rings for women, because men are not allowed to wear gold. Rings used to be worn on the ring and pinkie fingers.
The most important gemstones include in Arabic names: 
Aqiq (العقيق): it is the carnelian. Muslims wear silver rings with carnelian following the Sunnah (the prophet’s tradition- manner of conduct) because he wore on his right hand such a ring. The prophet’s ring had the inscription: Muhammad Rasul Allah, which means Muhammed is God’s messenger or prophet. He used it to stamp letters and documents.
Yaqut (ياقوت): it is the ruby. In the Muslim tradition, especially Shi’a, it is believed that ruby vanquishes poverty.
Fairuz (فيروز): it is the turquoise. It was associated with benediction.
Shadanj ((الشادنج it is the hematite. It is believed that Ali, wore this dem for power and protection.
