Only a small section of the upper part of the body is preserved, the piece has been split a little to the right of the middle of the neck and the bust, so that only the right shoulder remains. The inscription has been engraved on the back, and because a little more than half of the back has been split off, one may assume that about half of the two columns of the inscription is preserved. To the right of the first complete line of Col. I, there was at least one additional line (hardly more), as appears from the fact that its last sign (-na) has been preserved. This fragment of a statue is inscribed with an inscription of Iddin-Dagan, the third king of the Dynasty of Isin (1974-1954 BC). The provenance of this now rather small piece of a statue is unknown, but from the inscription it is reasonable to assume that the statue once showed the king Iddin-Dagan, and that it was placed in the temple of the goddess Ninisina in the city Isin (Modern Ishan al-Bahrijat). Translation: “To the goddess [Ninisi] na, his lady, Iddin-Dagan, mighty king, king of Isin, king of the land of Sumer and Akkad, dedicated (this statue) for his own life.
