The hair is rendered with snail-like curls over the forehead and temples. The cheeks and chin are rounded, the central part of the chin is protruding. The nostrils are still visible, even though the nose is missing. On each side of the nose is a shallow depression. The eyebrows are slightly protruding and the eyes are bulging with heavy upper lids. The stone has a yellowish patina.</pres:description><pres:content>MM Acc 0228, Purchased in the village of Arsos, Cyprus, in 1930., Bör märkas med inv. no. Archaic Cypro-Greek Style, Arsos Style V. According to Westholm in SCE III, p 600, the head was ‘found [my italics] and purchased in Arsos’. (According to Gaber-Saletan’s stylistic analysis the head was made in Kition, a view challenged by Nordin, see Publications.)
Centralhallen?, Broken below the chin, with only the front part of the head preserved (ears and neck are missing). Most of nose missing.
