The fourth is a little bit longer. All of them are pointed inwards. There is a hoop fastened to the upper arm. On one surface the arms are decorated with engraved palmettes. At the junction of the arms, there is a cabochon stone, possibly a ruby in a gold box-setting. The other side of the cross is plane except for an inscription in Greek, applied in fine gold wire upon the sheet metal. Vertically it runs ”light”, horizontally ”life”. Both surfaces are soldered together by a narrow strip of gold which makes the thickness of the cross.BEK 1954, From the collection of Georg von Békésy, 1974., This piece was a pendant to be worn on a chain. Some parallels with a similar palmette decoration or the same light-life inscription point to a date in the 5th-6th centuries A.D., Well preserved.
