Wide mouth with overhanging rim; tall, slender body, curving in gently above handles; horizontal, rolled-back handles at upper body; lower body tapering to a stem; tall, grooved base. Yellowish red clay; black glaze; red wash; added white and yellow. One reserved band on inside of mouth and one on rim top; on outside a reserved laurel branch between bands; A: to the right a woman in kekryphalos and chiton sitting on what looks like a dinos or a louterion (?); she holds a thyrsos in her left hand and a spray of white flowers hangs from her right hand; to the left Eros standing with a cluster of grapes in his right hand and holding up a cista with his left; a circular, white object lies on the cista; in the upper field a rosette with added yellow and a string of white beads; the ground line is marked by rows of white dots; to the left of Eros a rosette with added white; B: two confronting youths in himatia; the one to the right holds a stick; in the upper field a pair of stylised jumping weights; area under handles reserved; radiating tongues at base of handle attachments; beneath both handles a large palmette flanked by tendrils and flowers with added white; below an encircling meander border; reserved band at junction between stem and base; groove on side of base reserved; underside reserved.NM Ant 0019, Transferred from Gustaf III:s Museum of Antiquities to the National Museum.
