Regngudsfigurer kunde beställas på postorder, ett typiskt samlarobjekt inom "American Indian arts and crafts", en kategori (t.ex. keramik, vävnader, korgfläteri,  silver-turkosarbeten, dockor)  som växer fram när järnvägen kom till sydvästområdet på 1880-talet. Museets bibliotek har omfattande litteratur (böcker och tidskrifter)  som tar upp denna "Native American arts and crafts" kategori. Exempel på detta etnografiska konsthantverk finns i Nordamerika-utställningen, öppnad 2008.  (SB, 2010-04-15)., North America/USA: Tesuque rain god figure, probably made around the turn of the century 1800/1900  in the Tesuque pueblo in the US Southwest. Ran god figures could be mail ordered, a typical example of a collector´s item within  "American Indian arts and crafts", a category (e.g. ceramics/pottery, blankets, silver &amp; turquois, basketry and dolls) that began to develop among Native American peoples when the railway came to the US Southwest in the 1880s bringing tourists, artists, galleries, anthropologists/archaeologists etc. The museum´s library has a large amount of publications (books and journals) dealing with this kind of Native American arts and crafts aimed for an outside market. Exampels of these arts and crafts categories are on display in the North America exhibition, opened 2008. (SB, 2010-04-15).
