(generalkatalogen)This bowl has a wide, everted lip with two holes on each side. Narrowing slightly below the lip, the body swells at the belly and constricts toward the base, forming a globular shape. The base is recessed creating a rim at the edge. A bluish tinged glaze, which is partially crackled, covers the bowl. Remains of kiln grit still adhere to the rim at the base, the centre of the base and the lower part of the body. The shape of this vessel (a funnel-like top above a globular body) is typical for spittoons or receptacles for tea or wine waste. In the case of this small bowl, the function was rather that of a “drip bowl.” A cord could be tied through the two holes, and the bowl hung under an oil lamp to catch oil or waste material dripping from the lamp. , ceramics, Diameter foot: 4,5 cm, 국립민속박물관. e뮤지엄. 2018. 기름받이.
