Numera förekomma även förfalskade snäck- smycken, ty europeiska handelsmän hava låtit efterbilda originalen i porslin. Själv såg jag under hela min färd blott ett enda äkta snäcksmycke, det här, fig. 272, avbildade exemplaret. Det var mycket svårt för mig att kunna förvärva det, men till sist lyckades jag tillhandla mig det säll synta smycket för en ny, präktig, röd filt. The workshops were led by cultural historian and curator Victoria Chitungu Phiri representing the Women's History Museum Zambia (WHMZ) and Choma Museum, supported by a team from Choma Museum, Zambia.
