The specimen shown in Fig. 31, which is 77 cm. far along the inner periphery, consists of a step, tapered frame of dry grass towards the ends, about which a strip of leather has been folded and sewn with center thread. The joint runs along the middle of the inside of the belt and is almost imperceptible. The skin closes with admirable precision on the grass frame, which, thanks to the care with which the skin has been cut and sewn together, does not grin anywhere. The belt is provided at both ends with some narrow strips extending from the enclosing skin, with which it is tied."
