This figure seems to be almost a replica of the Chancay figure in brown on white published in Lapiner´s catalogue Art of Ancient Peru (NY 1968, fig 43 sid 27).
That specimenn has been dated to ca. 1300-1500 A. D.
The hands are painted dark grey on both sides, and the same colour was used for the upper part of the head (front and back), the eyes, the forehead band, the décor of the cheeks, and the mouth. Stains of paint may be seen on the neck and the left leg as well as on the back of the left arm, so whoever painted the figure seems to have done so in a hurry. The painting may have been touched up. The very white body may be proof of that. Two airholes were made for the burning, one on either side under the arms. The sex of the figure has not been visibly marked." cit Henry Wassén i The Georg von Békésy Collection, 19, På en lapp i botten på föremålen står numret 412., Lapiner, Alan C. Art of Ancient Peru.
