Name and identification of character
A young villager, gama Kolam (Sin.).

Context
The story portion in Kolam.

Material
Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica).

Iconography
The face is elongated and painted in green. The mouth is open, containing teeth cut in an irregular, disorderly manner. The carver appears to have exaggerated some of these facial characteristics. For example the triangular shaped the mouth immediately brings into view features of a hilarious character.

Comments on the Umlauff Catalogue
In the catalogue the mask is identified as depicting a Vädda.
