The body has an oblong shape and was carved to form eight vertical sides. A ridge separates each side from the other. Two similar floral designs were painted onto each side of the upper half of the bottle in underglaze blue of a dark tone. The design is slightly daubed. The bottle is covered with a thick, greyish tinged glaze. The surface of the glaze is curdled and pitted. The footrim and base have remains of coarse kiln grit mixed with reddish clay. A rope is tied around the bottle at the neck. This bottle has the characteristic shape of an oil bottle. These bottles were used for storing different types of oils, such as sesame oil or soybean oil, which were used for cooking or as fuel for oil lamps. The mouth was closed with a stopper, and a cord could be tied to the neck of the bottle to hang it on the wall. The wide mouth and the small opening had the function of a funnel when filling the bottle.ceramics, Diameter foot: 7,8 cm; diameter mouth: 9,4 cm, North Korea, South Korea, Ryongampo, North Pyeongan Province, North Korea, Korea,
